The Cybersecurity Research Centre (CYRES), formerly known as the National Advanced IPv6 Centre of Excellence (NAv6), was established at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as a national leader in IPv6 and next-generation networking technologies. Over the years, NAv6 earned global recognition as a premier IPv6 training and research hub through its active involvement in national ICT strategy, curriculum development, and pioneering pilot projects.
As the digital landscape evolved and cybersecurity became a critical national priority, NAv6 transitioned into CYRES—dedicated to driving advancements in cybersecurity through innovation, education, and strategic global partnerships.
